PS - another issue is control of the money/donations....
As of right now, my understanding is that only one person has access to our accounts and accounting. That needs to change.
There should be at least two or more people required to sign off on every check written- and the financial page on the website should be updated with correct information, such as how much we have gotten in direct donations, Paypal donations, etc., as well as a list of all monies paid out, including the receipts, and an update to the financial page that shows not just Paypal statements, but ALL bank statements, receipts, and other pertinent financial information.
Also, someone should be recording the minutes of both SC and Board meetings and posting those for the membership to read as well.

Board meetings are fictional. Last I checked, the Board is one person and his two original incorporators, whose proxy he weilds.

I haven't checked back here in a while, but it seems none of the questions were answered here, but perhaps elsewhere.

This is my opinion and I am giving it as an individual and not as speaking for the SC. David Itkin is correct abou t the corporate structure. MP holds all the cards there. He and he alone can add anyone to the board of directors. I do not think it is reasonable to add all of the delegates to the Board. After the 4th, there needs to be a decision made as to how we carry on. Possibly a new board structure can be put into place then.

The most functional boards generally have either 7 or 9 members. An odd number is preferable because it eliminates deadlocks. A smaller number may not yield enough active board members, and a larger number can get unwieldy.
I would propose that the Congress take up the question of what if any organizational structure we are going to create moving forward toward the end of the meeting, and think this is actually probably more important than whether or not we ratify a final petition by the end of the third day.
We need to know if Michael and the other two original board members are interested in staying on.
We also need to know if this is what the delegates want.
If necessary, we have the option of incorporating a separate organization.
