Why is the SC hostile towards the delegates? David, do you have some insight into this issue?

Because we think.
I've posted a longer answer under the thread that another delegate recently started entitled "What is Michael Pollok's official position?"

Ok, with the invitation to the forums sent out, there may be some changes to the layout over the next couple of days. Our base of active members will likely increase, due to an influx of delegates and volunteers, so we will need to adjust and adapt accordingly.
Thankfully, Maureen is experienced with running a forum with a larger member base and I'm a good old work horse, so we will work to do our best to keep this running smoothly.
Thank you, once again, for your patience as we move ever closer to the conference.

Unfortunately what David just said is pretty much true.

For some reason, there is a fear that if everything isn't predetermined before everyone gets to the PCC and if there aren't tight controls on the conference that there will be chaos and nothing will get done. Personally, and I am only speaking for myself and not the SC, I would rather have real discussion and debate and true alliances made that will go on past July 4th, even if the petition was not completed by the 4th. Congress is not going to redress the grievances or I will be extremely surprised if they pay any attention to it. It's having the relationships to work together to put pressure on individual congress people and get some of them defeated that I would like to see happen from the CC. And we will need to be able to trust each other and work together for that to happen.

It is possible for to have Congress pay attention to the petition; however, the difficulty lies in the time frame we've been allotted. If we were to use the conference time to draft a petition and then take that petition to the proverbial streets to drum up support, we could, eventually, succeed.
We would, of course, have to take much more time than we have (the pre-election deadline).

Dawn's right. That's such a truism, I ought to just go ahead and make it a macro to save keystrokes.

Dawn, in other words the SC is full of control freaks? I'm sure we've all had that issue before. I can sympathize with the SC not wanting to lose control over their "baby," but as they say, "Time to let this bird fly." Lets continue this conversation elsewhere. I don't want to take to Forum Suggestions thread TOO far off-topic

Speaking of off and on topic: I have neglected the forum maintenance and construction lately, due to trying to get out the mass email to the delegate and volunteer list, helping to write some letters, etc. It won't be tonight, but I will be tackling some of the suggestions over the next few days in an effort to make our pre-conference discussions a little more organized and start figuring out some ideas for the post-conference discussions we will likely be having. What? You thought it would all be done after July 4th?

Ok.
So, I'm a bit behind in the forum upkeep and modifications. I always plan for being able to accomplish more on the work weekends than I can actually complete.
I'm in and out during the day today, but I will have plenty of time this evening to tackle the requests from members and try to get us sorted out and situated for the post-conference needs, as well.
Thank you for your extreme patience.

Adjusted the Grievances List by adding sub-boards and did my best to read through each thread and apply it to an appropriate category. Let me know if a thread would be better suited for a different category and I will move it around.
Also created boards for post-convention planning, which will eventually (within about a week and a half) become the standard boards, while the pre-convention boards will be moved to the archive category in the administrative section.
All of those conversations will still be open for public reading after the convention, just not set for any further comments or responses, with the exception of threads that are continuations of conference discussions.
