The so-called Defense Of Marriage Act must be repealed. Homosexual couples have a fundamental human right to exactly the same sort of misery as heterosexual couples, a misery only available within the institution of matrimony.

I'm all for it, but does anyone know how it polls? Is it well north of 75%? If so it should be a "nail", if not, again, it would make a dandy "hammer" for 2012's Redress of Grievances.

I support this. I'm afraid that marriage equality will have to be determined by SCOTUS because of how many bigots want to keep attacking other groups Civil Rights just because their book says so.
Two consenting adults should be allowed to marry each other, period.

I agree with Jon. This should be a no-brainer, that it the "segregation" of our generation, but there are many Americans that are misinformed about this topic who would otherwise be open to it's equal nature. Discrimination is discrimination, no matter which way you slice it. However, it is prudent to destroy the infrastructure that leads to this discrimination, or else the conversation will always come back to social issues. Let's get the money out of politics, elect real leaders (not those with profit motives), fix the unequal coverage of media, and truly annihilate the discrimination in this country. We can't forget the power that churches use to push for this discrimination as well, where otherwise good people wouldn't feel the way they do, but lead to believe that way via their clergy.

As a Christian, I must oppose homosexual activity. However, I should be opposing it by talking to and persuading my neighbors - not by using the hammer of government on non-believers.
So though I may disagree with their lifestyle, I agree that government should not spend our society's resources enforcing my religious beliefs upon my neighbors.
