This is a copy of an email I sent re: M Forbes quitting.

I hope everybody recognizes that breaking this group up, and others like it, is exactly what the “powers that be” are counting on, and want to see happen.
It’s apparent that a lack of structure is killing the group. We need to start making progress in a constructive, productive manner. We need leadership sooner, rather than later. Remember that America loses if the status quo remains. Do you want to look back in 20 years and say “that was the time we could done something and didn’t”. Make no mistake about it. American sovereignty is at stake. You are in the position to help save our country at a time when it most needs it. YES, YOU.
I would like to respond, with all due respect, to an earlier post:
“ … But I say lets stop wasting time reinventing the wheel and get on with the solutions….There are two types of solutions: amendments and legislation… “
This sounds like a lawyer talking. If this group was formed by lawyers, for lawyers, I want to know that. I vehemently disagree with the limitations made pertaining to there being “two types of solutions”. Common knowledge suggests that there are two standards that exist: de facto and de jure. This group seems to want to focus on legislation as the only avenue for change (de facto). I asked a few questions prior to 7/4 and got no answer. I’ll try them again.
- How do we intend to fund the number of lawsuits that would be required to change the status quo?
- Who’s going to raise that money?
- What’s the point of having delegates if we employ this strategy?
- How does the group intend to maintain momentum (raise funds) employing a strategy that, if it does produce fruit, will likely take a minimum of 10 – 20 years.
My point: The strategies that the group seems to be employing might appeal to lawyers, but this American thinks there is a better, faster way, an approach that is inclusive of all delegates, not just the lawyers. Our power lies in our ability to come together as a group (de jure).
IMHO: We need to organize the group so we can “de-fractionalize” and start making some headway. Let’s put together a “test” sub-group of delegates that agree on a key (large majority) issue. Campaign Finance Reform and Corporate Personhood are strong rallying points. We can bring change about much quicker, and at much less cost, if at least some of us organize and concentrate our power on something like corporate earnings. You’ll never see a company change faster than when earnings take a hit (this will often impact management bonuses). Put a second sub-group together that focuses on the same issues, but creates a different set of solutions. Employ trial and error. When we find out what works, we share these best practices with others.
We need to take our country back. This group can succeed if we learn to synergize our efforts. We need a success story. Let’s put teams together that are tasked with getting it. It’s time to try some things. We’ll learn what works and what doesn’t. At this point, we’re doing what our elected representatives do – nothing. Let’s do something. I’m sick of reading. It’s time for doing.
