Possible Agenda Replacement
[Since the number of Delegates expected to attend the Congress has been vastly reduced, the agenda needs revising due to the massive amount of time previously allocated for two minute speeches. I am not Flying to the Congress from Texas and spending money for hotel accommodations for two minutes of fame. I will attend to work and contribute to the common good of the citizens of the USA.
Here you will find a suggested abbreviated schedule.]
Monday July 2nd
7:30 am. Delegates begin to arrive.
9:30 am. Congress convenes
10:00 am. Voting to select Grievances [as formatted by Mike Hartman] and from the floor.
12:00 pm. Lunch Break
2 pm. Continue Grievance selection
7:00 pm. Dinner Break
8:30 pm. Panel discussion selected from the delegates, Philadelphia Occupy, and The National Occupy group.
Tuesday July 3rd.
9:00 am. Voting to select Solutions [as formatted by Mike Huttman] and from the floor.
12 pm. Lunch
1:30 pm. Continued Solution Selection
7:00 pm. Drafting Committee assembles to write preamble and final organization.
Wednesday July 4th.
9:00 am. Two minute Speeches
12 pm. Ratification of the petition with Signatures
1:30pm. Delegate Parade
2:00 pm. Rally on Independence Mall

Thanks John. I didn't know we were having a parade! I am missing a parade?! Separating the Agenda from the Debate/Voting process is definitely a good idea. I will be compiling all the proposed agendas/voting docs in a google docs folder so the delegates have all the important documents in one place. docs.google.com/folder/d/0B5TLOEx_hDsiN0xST0dYRnVBdFU/editThere are some additions I would make to this proposal. First, there is going to be a vote on the SC proposed agenda. Indications are this agenda will likely be voted down. Then there needs to be a vote on the chair/facilitator/whoever is running the meeting. This may include a nomination process. Then there needs to be proposals, discussion and voting on HOW the grievances/solutions are going to be selected. The preference of the delegates right now seems to be to establish a threshold, have a simple up or down baseline vote by category, then have some form of moderated debate on grievances that have a legitimate shot at making in to the petition. I might also add time for additional motions and proposals not directly related to the grievances or solutions to be introduced before the voting of grievances. Example: opening up the Congress for non-delegates (allowing votes or just observation/participation in discussion) --- After the delegates put together a final document, I believe there also needs to be some discussion/voting on the next steps moving forward. First, with the document itself...since this organization has seem repeated failures so far, and the attendance at the Congress will not be nearly as large as originally hoped, perhaps the best move would be not to have a final ratification, but for the delegates to set up better communications, and reach out to The People to get their support, feedback and suggestions for improvement, and set milestones and a date for a second meeting (perhaps Sept. 17 the week prior...actual or virtual?) and discuss the packaging and delivery. The other thing that needs to be discussed is organizational structure moving forward. MP either needs to transfer ownership and we need to vote on how reconstituting the board of directors will be handled, or we may decide we need to start our own organization. We may also want to reconstitute the steering committee, or dissolve it, and we might want to elect officers and set the length of their terms/job descriptions.
