It has been a year since the Continental Congress has met. The Steering Committee has disbanded the corporation, but the movement carries on. The Continental Congress has established sufficient legal basis for this (and is continued by legal papers discussed below). Although not supported by all that were on the Board, it is believed legal process is our best foot forward. The petition last year had the legal effect of a request. When it failed to gain interest by our government, the next step legally was to file legal papers with the Supreme Court. On May 28 of this year, a document was submitted called an Extraordinary Writ (attached). This document spells out the legal basis for the petition (updated to comply with existing law), corrective measures, a modern Declaration, and Amendments by will of the people. (The Amendments were included in case the document failed to be recognized by the court.) This not only includes checks and balances agreed upon in Phillidelphia and included in the petition, it also provides several measures to stop the plan for corporate rule from ever taking place (that the writ highlights). The court rejected the writ for frivolous reasons, as was expected. We (those who are promoting this legal process) are now preparing to reprimand the court for error. Yes, it is another legal process, but this legal process will highlight how the government is not operating according to law and force their hand, so it stands the best chance of success. Normally, the court does this to vet which cases have merit, when they can find no other issues with it. However, this procedure does not apply to cases where the people are filing for grievances against the U.S. government for legislation written to the detriment of the people. (It means, this document and the body of law governing it is in the purview of the people, not the court.) We are right where we are supposed to be in this process. Together, we will prevail to restore the government of the Constitution and stop corporate rule. ~Stephen L. The next step is that we need to put pressure on government to adhere to Constitutional authority. The U.S. government only has the authority for what the Constitution delegates to them. They do not have the authority to turn on their own citizens. If they do not comply with the Constitution regarding these matters, they will be in contempt. (That’s fancy terminology that just means they didn’t follow rules of law set by the Constitution and will have to answer to the people for it.) This would have the effect of placing the people in authority (explained further below, and in more detail in the writ). But, you ask, “How are we going to enforce this?” That is where grassroots efforts come in.
The legal process established by the Founding Fathers was that they first met with various heads of state to plead their case. When Parliament and the Courts denied their petitions for correction of laws, they then went to the court of the people and protested the powers of government. Of course, I am referring to town newspapers and the Boston Tea Party. These things incited King Henry to anger, and in order to clamp down on the rebellion, he sent more troops. And, on the story goes.
We have gleaned from their example and are taking steps to ensure government does not turn on its citizens. But, as you can see by the writ to the court, we are already in the fight for our lives. (It's just a matter of timing: now, when we have the means to act; or later, when it is more difficult.) So, we are looking to gain the support of the media and to step up the protests by concerned citizen groups.
However, we are going to do things different and not include any other issue. For, truth must come before a verdict of justice. So, authorized government must be made known before order can be restored. America needs to know why we are protesting before what, and this is what we believe will lead to greater chance of success. As we gain success, then we will address other issues brought out by the group, but in the order of greatest impact and importance as the legal process may allow. Some people have pet peeve issues, but this effort is following a legal process that requires things be done in a certain order, and it is paramount that we work together. (This is the process we have established, and anyone participating who does not cooperate and remain civil, will be expelled from this subgroup as a saboteur. As sad as that is, as harsh as that sounds, it has become necessary.)

With those things in mind that I just wrote, the next step is grassroots protests to make our voices heard. To do this, we will need to build up the base of supporters. So, we ask that you contact Occupiers and other concerned citizen groups let them know what you have done to support this cause. Don’t underestimate the power of example. When you have done this, please add to this thread with the subtitle “1 Year Later: Groups” to this discussion saying what groups you have contacted so we can keep track.
We have met with the Editor of the Redlands Daily Facts and have requested a story. They refused to print on the grounds it was not sensational enough. So, we need supporters to contact the Editor (RedlandsDailyFacts.com) and your local news, and let them know you support the story regarding the Supreme Court writ by delegates of the Continental Congress. When you have done this, please add to this thread with the subtitle “1 Year Later: News” to let us know what news agencies you heard from.
Everyone should invest in the cause. You can claim 8 or 9 on your W2 withholdings, defer taxes on any IRA’s and 401K’s, and then save that tax money in a special designated account or trust (in order to stay legal). We are asking everyone in this group to participate and to encourage coworkers, friends and family to do the same. If anyone asks about it, just tell them the authorized government of the Constitution has need of it, and you are uncomfortable with giving any money until the legal dispute of the people is resolved. Why? The Constitutional law that authorizes U.S. government is contested, and the people are the power behind the Constitution. (The government does not have any right to power if the people do have the right to exist.) Plain and simple. Feel free to share how many you are leading in doing this by adding to this thread with the subtitle “1 Year Later: Power Play”.
Next, to take power away from them, all we have to do is the same kind of protest as in the Trayvon Martin case and block the entrances to federal government buildings. Those that lock arms in silence, or those who sit passively in front of that row only chanting, “The people are the authorized government of the Constitution; The United States cannot attack its own citizens and still be the government,” will be considered participants of this group. Of course, we want to hear what events you have scheduled and follow up with how they went by adding to this thread with the subtitle “1 Year Later: Events”.
Then blog, blog, blog (no smilies, please). With your help, we will prevail to restore the government of the Constitution and stop corporate rule. On behalf of this Main Street Suffrage "committee" (made of Cont. Congress 2.0 Delegates and concerned citizens), thank you.

Some may be wondering if civil disobedience is legal and can you get into trouble. The underlying legal framework behind passive protests is legal. But that doesn't matter because there is something called higher laws.
There are laws protecting passive protests. Even if that were not so, let me ask you if laws that are made for the detriment of the people, if they are legal? Is it legal for the U.S. government to grieve its citizens, label them with a golden star, and exterminate them one by one? You know it is not, because we learned that. These higher laws were established at the Nuremburg trials, and by the Constitution.
The Constitution is founded on the Declaration of Independence, which is rooted in the Magna Carte and Court of Khisiarshu. All of these say the same thing: the government does not have the authority to turn on its citizens. The writ to the Supreme Court establishes this fact. For the same reasons, the government also does not have the right to make laws to protect lawmakers from reprisal when the laws were made to harm the people they serve. The Constitution guarantees that.
So, recent laws that restrict the right of the people to passively protest are illegal. Meaning, the people have every right to stand up to oppressive government. Can you go to jail or get hurt, anyway? There is always that possibility, but it won't stick. The police would have to release you after a day and will have to pay you back for any injuries if you take it to court.
Yes, you have to take measures to see your family will be taken care of before going to a protest event. Plan well; stay safe. It will only serve to work to our benefit if they round us up and prove they have become monsters! But what is worse: a little discomfort for a moment, or corporate rule for a lifetime? We can't let that happen. So, if it means having to enforce the law in this manner in order to take their power away, then let’s take it away passively but meaningfully. Is it worth it? The Founding Fathers thought so, and so do I.

Not to put to fine a point on it or anything, but this is total bollocks. Your bloody government bugs our computers, spoils our planet, underwrites poverty and famine all over the world, tortures prisoners and hoards vaccines.
And the best you can come up with is to fight amongst yourselves about rearranging the deck chairs on the fucking Titanic.
You've got the government you deserve, wankers.
Bugger off.

Peter, we believe that U.S. gov't has gone astray. We are concerned with the same things you brought out. However, this effort is to use the law established by the Founding Fathers to return gov't to established law. If it succeeds, it will save the ship not watch her sink. No one deserves corporate rule.
