My name is Nathan Dunn. I am representing New York's 20th Congressional District at the Congress. I am married to a beautiful woman (aren't they all?) and we share our house with a hound mutt named Apollo. I work in lower management at a retail drug store. I kind of defaulted into it; it's the only job I've ever had, and have been there about 7.5 consecutive years, 9 total (left for college, and came back after). As strange as it may sound, it's an excellent opportunity for me to connect with my community and to help people. I truly enjoy my work, even with all of the headaches and hassles that arise, as they do in any workplace. I am excited for this opportunity to work with people from across the nation to address the widening chasm and deepening dysfunction of our government. If I'm to be honest, I'm not expecting for much to directly come out of this gathering. What I am hoping, however, is that the American people can see their own frustrations reflected in us, and that we serve as inspiration for the rest of the nation to stand up and say "enough". If we can deliver a clear, direct message we can be the catalyst for some real, meaningful change in the way that our government operates.

Hi Nathan...
Since we've already met in the previous forum, I just wanted to say that I still believe we can do more than just inspire the rest of America. We still have a chance to make this a successful endeavor, and I'm not one to give up easily.
It's true we've had some "headaches and hassles" of our own, but those are just growing pains. I do believe that we are finally heading in the right direction, with more cohesive leadership and a renewed sense of purpose.
Even if we have to change a few things to facilitate the larger goal of getting the participation of most (if not all) of the delegates, in the end, the important thing is to ratify a Declaration that is actionable. And remember, our jobs do not end on July 4th. In fact, they are just beginning there - as we have to do more than create a document. We have to defend it and advocate for it if we truly want our elected leaders to redress those grievances.

Oh Maureen, I completely agree. If this is done right, with enough publicity, we can absolutely do something concrete. All I'm saying is that the MOST that I'm hoping for is to inspire the electorate to manifest their own frustrations into something actionable. Anything above and beyond that is just gravy. I'm absolutely going to Philadelphia, and I will do whatever I can to make this successful. I'm not a defeatist, I'm just not getting my hopes up.
