Sorry to be so later posting this. We voted last night for Robert Manning to post a statement to the forum. I guess he hasn't had a chance to do so yet. Basically we discussed the following: the volunteers have been briefed and will be working the door, sign in desk, handling the mics and doing whatever other tasks are needed. There are 15 volunteers. We agreed that media with proper ID would be admitted. Other observers would not be admitted. The discussion of finding more females for the SC was tabled. The lack of a delegate email list was discussed and the fear that if we had one we would not have the authority to release it. A great deal of discussion took place on the role of delegates and the steering committee. Most members felt that planning should be as previously decided and decision making rests in the SC.
The list of 100 grievances was sent to the vender today for programming into the voting machines.

Alright.
It's appreciated, Dawn... and pretty much the way most of us expected it to go.
What's the appropriate phrase in situations like these?
Ah, yes... "God help us all."

Dawn, I believe you mean "the list of 100 GRIEVANCES" - not 100 delegates... yes?
One of the delegates sent in a grievance through the website a while ago (before midnight, so on the 15th still). Will that be included?
What about any other grievance suggestions that were submitted by candidates or delegates? There had to be at least a few. Are they part of the list?
Should I venture a guess that the only list sent was the original "suggested" list, with no consideration given to any grievance suggestions submitted even through the website?
Or do we already know the answer to that?

I'm sorry. Yes, that should have said list of 100 grievances not delegates.

MP said that it included all the grievances sent through June 15.

Dawn, you should be able to fix that post - do you see a "Modify" link in the upper right corner of the post? You can use that to edit the post and fix that word.

In my view, we must be organized and we must vote nonsense down by lopsided margins.
There are now over 100 folks using this forum. The SC refuses even to view it, except for Dawn and maybe Julio is watching.
I doubt there'll be more than 175 delegates in the room.
We should all be at the registration table very early. We should behave responsibly and amicably.
We should be exemplars of civility, while making sure we get registered and into the room before the SC starts voting on things while we're still in line. I wouldn't put it past them.
Also, be warned, despite announcements to the contrary, the PCC thinks we're going to be out by 5:00 pm every day. Not the 24/7 that the SC was trumpeting.
Again, a strategy for stifling debate. They don't want debate. They want a rubber stamp. If we follow our consciences, we won't be one.
If they run roughshod over lop-sided majorities, there moment in the sun will be searing.

Re: Last nights steering committee meeting: Last week Robert M and I talked about the SC putting together some kind of press release/or talking points for the media. Did this happen? I have a radio station which is interested in giving us some mention on their news program ( WHYY ). I could write something myself, but I am sure there is someone who could put together something more professional and concise than I. If I must do it myself I will try. Any suggestions? efahrenholz@comcast.net Thanks, Ed Fahrenholz
