It seems as if we are strapped for cash. I am proposing a modest fee to be collected each morning as we enter the convention hall. If we each threw $10 into a bucket as we entered, and if indeed we are 700 strong, we could easily raise $21,000 in three days.
$10 is roughly the price of a movie these days. I think each day at the Congress will be even more entertaining. Certainly more entertaining than Melancholia.
Think about it.
Of course it would be strictly voluntary.

Maybe the SC well let us in for free -- then charge every one $100 to get out. Sounds like a 1% business plan to me!

I want to know what the funds will be used for before contributing. Personally I WANT the funds to go towards WiFI and/or video equipment so that we can Livestream or record the convention. I feel that for legitimacy that the convention should be publicly broadcast either through YouTube or some other format that the public at large can reach.
What expenses are outstanding for this event? Has everything been paid off at this point, or is there something else that needs to be funded? Is all of the money currently in possession accounted for?

I totally agree.
Financial transparency in government.
Shouldn't we be modeling this in our organization?

Yes, we should.
We aren't, but we should.
If people had known how much of Mike's own personal funds he was pouring into this thing, maybe they could have persuaded him to stop investing so much money (and with it a sense of ownership) into it.
But since he was keeping the books, the money coming in just looked like more donations.
Early on, I begged him to stop pouring his own personal bankroll into this. The more he put in, the more intolerant he became of diverse views.
I failed. And so, now we're where we are.

We need permanent sources of revenue. There are promising avenues that we can exploit. Please read my post titled "Delegate/Constituent Charter" to learn more.
